Pharmaceutical

Control and automation support for pharmaceutical production, where hygiene, traceability and clear documentation are essential.

Pharmaceutical production places demands on a control system that go beyond keeping a line running. What the system did, and the evidence that it did it, matter as much as the outcome.

Ivevane supports this with PLC and SCADA engineering, stainless steel control panels built for hygienic environments, and a delivery approach that is documented and factory tested before it reaches the floor.

What goes wrong, and what we do about it

The pharmaceutical control problem.

  • Hygienic design constraints on control hardwareStainless steel control panels specified for washdown environments, with enclosure rating and cable management treated as design inputs rather than site decisions.
  • Traceability of what the system did, not just what it producedPLC and SCADA engineering that records batch and sequence data as part of the control logic, so the record reflects what the line actually did.
  • Documentation that has to be complete at handoverDocumented delivery, with the as-built drawing and test record set complete at handover rather than assembled afterwards.
  • Changeover that must be fast without becoming ambiguousRecipe driven changeover with parameters exposed to operators, so a product change is a selection and not an engineering intervention.
Typical architecture

How the control stack is usually built.

Every plant differs, but the layers rarely do. This is the shape most projects in this sector take.

  1. 01 · SupervisorySCADA with batch and sequence recording
  2. 02 · ControlPLC control with recipe and changeover logic
  3. 03 · SafetyGuarding, interlocks and defined safe states
  4. 04 · NetworkIndustrial Ethernet to line and packaging equipment

Platforms

The hardware we engineer across.

Vendor-neutral by design — which matters when your sites are not standardised on one platform.

Questions

What operators usually ask.

Do you build panels for washdown environments?

Yes. Stainless steel control panels are built in house, with the enclosure rating and cable management specified for the environment the panel will actually sit in.

What documentation do we receive?

As built drawings and the factory test record set, complete at handover. The intent is that the documentation describes the system that was installed, not the system that was originally proposed.
